In cell a1 we have drop down selection(black, white, red and blue). If i select black then color of cell b1 should be black and if selection is red then cell color of b1 should be red and so on.
Please assist on above query.

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
You could do this with Conditional Formatting.

1. highlight the range you want to apply the conditional formatting to (B1)
2. on the home tab, styles, select CF
3. select new rule, select use formula
4. enter =A1="Black" format fill Black

repeat 3 & 4 for the other colors
