Hello All,

Is there any formula I can write within a cell that will change the color of that cell depending on the value entered in another cell?

For example: If cell A1 on Sheet1 has a value of "Speed Dial" then color of cell B6 on Sheet2 changes to Yellow.

Anyone?

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
Use the conditional formatting option on the cell that is to change colour.

Select cell -> format -> conditional format.

Change "Cell value is" to "Formula is"

Then in the box next to that put =$A$1="Speed Dial"

Set the colour that is to be used when A1 = Speed dial.

this is how to do it in excel 2003

hope this helps
