Hi,

I would everything in my workbook to be in Times New Roman font, so I just select all cells and set the font to that. However, since the default font for Excel is Calibri, every times I cut a cell, the font of what's left behind is reverted back to Calibri.

I have tried to solve this by changing the default font for Excel in Excel Ribbon to Times New Roman, then restarting Excel. However it looks like the problem still exists.
I think what this option only does for you is make the font of a NEW workbook Times New Roman. WIth an existing workbook that was created before this change...tough luck??

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
You need to edit the Normal style in existing workbooks.
One line of Macro will do this in the active workbook:
ActiveWorkbook.Styles("Normal").Font.Name = "Times New Roman"
A macro could open each file in a folder, apply the change and save and close the file again.
