In excel the "mouse pointer" is not a standard pointer, it is a like an crossm when in the sheet area. Is there a way to make it larger and have a different color. Teaching a class and it is hard to see

Excel Facts

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
goto control panel - mouse - pointers tab - click on browse or select your desired pointer from the drop list of Scheme.

Not sure if there is an option for changing color.

Hope this helps

That only changes the Pointer. No the cross that is displayed in the excel worksheet when moving around cell fields

There is no option I know of to change that - it's built-in to Excel.
