Change Value to Formula

I'm working with an excel add-in to communicate with Oracle (essbase/smartview add-in). When the add-in refreshes it removes all hard-keyed values, but will not remove any formulas. When I want values to remain I have to manually make them into a formula (e.g. =1000+1-1) so they will remain on a refresh. Is there any workaround to more easily convert existing values to some sort of formula? This would save me tons of time.

Thanks!

How to fill five years of quarters?
Type 1Q-2023 in a cell. Grab the fill handle and drag down or right. After 4Q-2023, Excel will jump to 1Q-2024. Dash can be any character.
Found a decent work around. Enter +1-1 into a cell and then "copy, paste special, add" on all of the value cells. This will create a formula within the call and won't change the value.
