Greetings.

I used very helpful instructiosn from this board to create a "Book.xls" file in my startup folder and changed default graphing colors, fonts, etc. When I open an excel workbook fresh, the defaults are there. If i already have excel open and open a new workbook, all the defaults seem to be there EXCEPT the color defaults. Is there a way to have excel open up new workbooks with ALL the new defaults when I open a new workbook from an existing one?

Thanks!

I believe Excel loads new workbooks from the "Book.xlt" template, not a workbook called "Book.xls". Try changing your workbook to a template. Under Save-As, choose "*.xlt" as the type. Be sure it is in the startup folder.

Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately, it didn't work. The new workbooks still have old colors. Any other ideas?

How are you opening your new workbook? Clicking the "New" Workbook Icon does not open the Template.xlt. You need to click the "Open" Icon and choose Templates, click your Book.xlt template file. Your settings should then be there.
