changes in workbooks

hello mr.excel forum folks,
i need help with a problem involving changes in workbooks--
the workbooks contain 5000 product names in the rows & the columns a-k
contain item numbers,price, url, etc..

i am supposed to download the spreadsheet daily and make the appropriate changes--

i would like the changes to be hightlighted, but also have a "new" spreadsheet so that i can repeat this process daily.

Hi

I'm a bit unclear...

You want to highlight the differences between an existing sheet, and one downloaded daily?
Where / how do you want the differences highlighted?
Are there unique keys that will be on both (item numbers perhaps)?
What constitutes a difference? Change in price, name, additions, deletions???
What do you mean by a "new" spreadsheet?

sorry that i wasn't clear--let me try again--
a) i would like to know of all changes-i'd like to e-mail the changes to
several different parties.

b)upon further thought i guess that i don't need a "new" sheet--
if i have workbook #1 & workbook #2--then workbook #2 becomes
the workbook that i would use to compare differences the next day.

in a nutshell then, i would like to track changes in workbooks on a daily
basis--

i hope that this is easier to understand--my knowledge of excel is so pitiful
that i don't always know how to ask the question properly.

So you basically want to compare yesterday's download, to todays download and highlight the differences between the two.

So, going back to my earlier post, can you please respond to the other 4 questions I posed.

hello folks--sorry that it took me so long to get back to this--other
fires to put out!!

i want to be able to track daily changes in workbooks...the columns will
be the same everyday...i would like to be able to track the additions,
deletions & price changes
