Changing Array with an OLE link in it

OK- I've got a cell that gets its data from a table of contents in microsoft word... it looks like this...

=Word.Document.8|'\L440GXcuol_sourceadminin progressCopy of ch0100EXAMPLE.doc'!'!OLE_LINK1'

As you can see the word doc is ch0100, I need to make separate spreadsheets for chapters two through to twenty-something.

This cell is part of an array I use later for a VLOOKUP function.

I made the OLE link by copying the word TOC and 'pasting special (paste link)'. Now I want to replicate this in another spreadsheet so that it will look at eg CH0200EXAMPLE. I've figured out (or read from this board I think) that I can change the array by clicking on the cell, making the change and clicking CTRL-SHIFT-ENTER. But I get a #REF! error thingy. What I really want to do is go into the CH0200EXAMPLE.doc, copy the TOC and then paste it special (link) into the spreadsheet.... but I can't because "You cannot change part of an array" (gee thanks clippit).

Any help/ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanks
