Is there a way to change the colums heading of "A", "B", "C", and so forth to another name? What about the numbered rows of "1", "2", "3" and so forth.

What is the last column in Excel?
Excel columns run from A to Z, AA to AZ, AAA to XFD. The last column is XFD.

To change to numbers, click on Tools- Options and the General tab. Check the R1C1 Reference Style box.

Turn off "Headers" then in row 1 col's A and B, type A & B. The select both, A&B in row 1. Drag the handle in the right of the selection box accross the sheet. You now have only column headers. Build a macro to hide and un-hide row 1, with a hot key. Now you can turn On and Off your custom header. Note: You can format the font and cells of that header row, with more options than you can with the real header's. JSW
