Changing Font Colors using Formulas

I have been looking for a way to change font and cell colors using formulas (instead of conditional foramtting).

I can find no references or methods to do so. Am I missing something on this topic?

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).

No you're not missing anything. VBA might do it however.
