Hi, first time poster and new VBA coder. I need code to change the text in a cell to two different font sizes. The first font size is everything up to and including the first space, and the second font size is everything after the first space. Here's my broken code in an attempt to modify the contents of cell A2:

VBA Code:
    Range("A2").Left(Range("A2"), InStr(" ", Range("A2") + 1)).Font.Size = 18
    Range("A2").Characters((Range("A2").InStr(" "))).Font.Size = 24

This doesn't seem to be working at all. Could anyone be kind enough to help me? Thank you in advance!

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
Assuming A2 doesn't have a formula in it, try this. Formula cells can not have multiple font sizes, colors, etc.
VBA Code:
Sub FontChanges()
With Range("A2")
    .Font.Size = 24
    .Characters(1, InStr(1, [A2], " ") - 1).Font.Size = 18
End With
End Sub
