Changing Formula to show named cells

I have the formula

=Sum(A1+A2)

Since writing the formula I have named cell A1 "Dog" is there any way I can update the formula to show the name reference?

= Sum(Dog+A2) being the desired outcome

Insert>Name>Apply and choose the name you want to apply.
