I need help creating a formula that will change based on the part type I input in a cell. If I type "Part ABC" in cell A1 for example I want a formula in B1 that will do a simple calculation by grabbing part weights and color percentages from a table with the row that matches "Part ABC". If I type "Part XYZ" I want to grab the values from row matching "Part XYZ", etc. Thanks.

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
You might need index/match if your list isn't sorted, http://www.contextures.com/xlFunctions03.html.

Thanks. I'll try these ideas and see where I get. I know basic excel, but still struggle with some stuff.

Basically my table won't change, it will be:

Part Type Part weight Color %
A 44 4
B 50 2
C 52 2
D 50 3

If the user enters a value that matches part type I want to multiply part weight times color % for that part type entered.

Thanks again.
