I searched on the site for some time regarding this question and could not find anything.

So basically what I need is to refelct a date in one cell (6/30/2009) to the corrisponding day in another cell (Tuesday).

I know that the formatting tool will allow you to shoot back Tuesday, June 30, 2009 but i simply need to extract the Tuesday.

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
Format the cell with the date (or in an adjacent cell copy the date) as:

Format Cells - Custom -

and enter dddd in the custom area.
