Hi

I have a project needing different text messages to appear depending on where I move a slider. This would be over a 17 day period. Is that possible?

Thanks

Ambidextrous Undo
Undo last command with Ctrl+Z or Alt+Backspace. If you use the Undo icon in the QAT, open the drop-down arrow to undo up to 100 steps.
what do you mean by slider? But typically yes, you could display a text message based on criteria

Hi.

I was hoping for a bar numbering days 1-17. Beneath the bar a curser or similar that when moved left to right will display a different text message depending on where in the timeline the curser is.

Hope that makes sense.

In your dataset if you add a column for this, you could pivot your data then add a "slicer" (insert slicer). As the user selects, display messages.

The text list is in cells G4:G20. From the developer tab I inserted a Form Control Scroll Bar. I formatted the scroll bar with:

The Scroll Bar controls cell E3.

I used an INDEX formula in cell B4 to retrieve the text. Download available at:

alt + F11 to enter macro editor. Paste this in:

Code:
Sub scrollbar1_change()
Dim scbval As Long
scbval = ActiveSheet.Shapes("Scroll Bar 1").ControlFormat.Value
Range("J3") = Range("G1").Offset(scbval + 2, 0) 'change J3 to whatever cell you want to show message, even can be on another sheet.
End Sub

Then right click the actual scrollbar and assign macro to scrollbar1.
Use scrollbar and see dynamic messages based on scrollbar value.
