Chart Average Line

I have a spreadsheet with a number of cells whose data is used for one line on the chart, I would also like to include an average line on the chart. Whilst I appreciate I can create a 'Dummy' set of cells of the average value to create the average line, but I wondered whether there is a way of creating the line just from a single cell containing the average value.

I was hoping I could avoid adding extra columns of data, but from your reply I guess not.
