Chart issue treating empty strings as zero

Hi

I have a line chart which is rather annoyingly treating formulae that return empty strings as zeros.

So I have a list of week-starting dates extending into the future (Column A). Column B contains projected figures for all the dates. and Column C contains formulae that return the sums based on the week-by-week figures as they're input elsewhere on the workbook. They also return "" where they reference blank cells.

I always thought that Charts treat "" as empty cells - but the blasted thing is dipping sharply to zero instead.

Any suggestions?

I'm using Excel 2010
