CHART: multiple vertical AND horizontal line in one chart?

I'm studing http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Charts/AddLineHorzSeries.html trying to get at least one horizontal AND one vertical line in one chart, and want to know if it is possible to get multiple horizontal AND vertical lines in one chart?

well been messing with this for about an hour and can't seem to get a vertical and horizontal line in the same chart. And having some problem with vertical line when uisng months and year only and not days like the example shows??

I'm trying to show milestones with the horizontal line representing the number of tasks required to complete and the vertical line showing the month when everything must be completed. A line chart will show how many tasks have been completed each month so we can see how things are moving along...

You can get any number of horizontal and vertical lines on the same chart, as long as you don't exceed 255 total series in the chart.

I can't tell from your data what the problem is exactly, but it might be that my example used days, so a date works well as the X values for any added XY charts. If you're using month and year categories, the dates are no longer in the same serial sequence as if they were days. You need to figure out what numerical values of X for the XY chart correspond to the months and years of your time scale axis. A hint, though. By day, the date is figured as the number of days since 1/1/1900. By month, October 2006 is the 1281st month since January 1900 (including January 1900). I just et up a quickie chart, and my XY point with X=1281 lines up with the line chart time scale axis at October 2006.

Didn't you try it? (You know how I learned about Excel? I read all I could find, and I tried everything. Sometimes I even tried before I read the answer, and if it didn't work, I tried other things, then I read the answer, and tried that. Pretty soon, I got good at knowing what the answer was going to be.)

When you tried it, didn't it work, or at least get you 99% of the way there?
