Chart not giving right data

My graph is spitting out the wrong data. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction for common mistakes...

For example, group one has $100 and group two has $50, the chart does one of two things. It either gives group one %50 and group two %50 OR it gives group one 100% and group two 0%. When CLEARLY group one should around 66% and group two around 33%.

I have several graphs/charts that have some version of the same information that came out correct. I've even copied, pasted, and changed certain info, but it comes up with the 50/50 OR 100/0. Any suggestions?

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
Alright. I'm posting to my own message. After I took a break I found a fix.

I was using
849429 for group one, and
849413 for gouup two

My value for 849429 (or group one) was $1800, and
My value for 849413 (or group two) was $550

The reason my chart was coming up with the 50/50 OR 100/0 was because it eveidentially didn't understand 849429 and 849413 as being groups instead of numbers. So, I added text to each cell (for example 849429a, and 849413b) and then it charted correctly. I'm refreshed after that easy but tramatic issue. I'm feel retarded, but hope this helps someone

Have you tried entering, instead of numbers sucha as 849429 and 849413, the formula, ="849429" Try it, at least you don't see the added letter a or whatever.
