charting a wide range of data

Is there a way in Excel (I'm using 2000) to make a broken bar in a bar chart. We're charting the comparison of the US economy vs various other nations and have just what you'd expect, a very wide range of data. To show the American economy we have to set the range so high that many smaller nations' figures barely appear. Is there a way to create a break in the US bar, implying that data has been left out, so that the other nations can be displayed.
