Hello everyone.

I have a stacked bar chart with up to 8 series per category.

I have (intentionally) made the 1st series bar format have no line and no fill, therefore making it invisible. I would like to retrieve this series but cannot select it so I can modify the format.

Can anyone please let me how to change this series format? I have tried many options and Google searched a bit but to no avail.

Thanks,
Darren

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
Edit the chart and remove the data series you've made invisible. You can then add it back in as a new data series, and it will be visible (with default formatting).

Thanks sr12345,

I knew I could do that, and ultimately I did, but I was just wondering if there was an easier way.

This chart wasn't too big and complex, but recently I have been working on a 7-high stacked panel chart where each panel Y-axis was derived by formula and then inserted as a XY plot, and then formatting turned off and error bars used to simulate tick marks. So to remove one or many of these series then add them again and reformat all the other settings would just be a pain in the backside.

Thanks again for the response though.
