I am trying to check 3 different cells for a number greater than 0. If any 2 of the 3 cells has a value greater than 1, I want to display "Duplicate" in a cell.

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
can you be more specific as to what you're trying to get done, what ranges are you working with, and when you say duplicate what exactly do you want excel to do?

I am checking for redundant parts inventory between 3 different part rooms. Each part room represents a different cell (Part room 1=B5, Part room 2=C5,Part room 3=D5).

If B5 and C5 show a value greater than 0, I want a cell to show "Duplicate" as the value. The same is B5 and D5 show a value greater than 0, or if C5 and D5 show a value greater than 0.

if I understand you correctly try using the following formula in any cell of your choice perhaps E5

=IF(Sum(B5:D5)>=2, "Duplicate","")

let me know if it works.

Is there a way to count how many cells say "Duplicate" in a column and show the total in a cell?
