Check Box help

I am making a spreadsheet to track club dues. I want a checkbox that when it is checked it will link to another cell with the amount owed for that day. For example: I created a checkbox, when it is clicked, I want the number 1 to show in cell C3. I am able to create the box using the forms toolbar, but all I can get the link to say is True when checked and False when unchecked. I don't want to see that info.

Welcome. Try something like this:

Press Alt-F11 to bring up VBA
In the left pane, double-click the sheet to attach this to
In the right pane, paste this in:

Private Sub Worksheet_Calculate()
If [c3] = "FALSE" Then
[c3] = 0
Else
[c3] = 1
End If
End Sub

Assuming that you have calculation on auto, it will work for you.

It does not open 2 panes. I got the VBA itself open with 1 pane, I input the code in the one pane that opens and it stays in there, but has no affect on the spreadsheet. Nothing changes. I must be doing something wrong.

Try this:

Alt+F11 and View - Project Explorer. Then follow tactps steps. You must have gotten the codes in wrong place.

Edit: Make sure you remove the codes from where you pasted them in the first place.

It's really not necessary. Excel will treat the TRUE as 1 and the FALSE as 0 in any formula or calculation.
