Check crossover of groups

Hi i am not sure if this is possible but i am looking to create a spreadsheet that contains groups of people e.g. Group A- Jill, Bob, Chris, Linda. Group B- Jim, Bob, Frank, Adam. Group C- John, Sue, Linda, Steve.
From the example you can see Bob is in group A and Group B and Linda is in Group A and Group C.
I have a list of dates and if i were to put group A and B down on the same night this would be impossible as bob is in both groups, so i want the spread sheet to check for crossovers of people in groups and if there is a crossover when i put them on the same date for it to flag up or turn the cell a different colour to show the error.

There would be more groups with multiple crossovers. Hope this makes sense, Thanks in advance
