as a final q on checkboxes -
I need to code so that if a checkbox on sheet1 is ticked then the checkbox on sheet2 is available, however when the checkbox on sheet1 is not checked, the checkbox on the sheet2 is unavailable.

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
In design mode, double-click on the checkbox on Sheet1 and enter either of the following lines of code depending on whether you want to simply hide or actually disable the checkbox on sheet2. Change the Sheet2.CheckBox1 to the sheet number and checkbox number/ name as appropriate: -

Code:
Sheet2.CheckBox1.Visible = CheckBox1.Value 'hides/ shows checkbox
Sheet2.CheckBox1.Enabled = CheckBox1.Value ' disables/ enables checkbox
