I'm using excel to query a table on the sql server, is there any way I can see if the connection is available or not? Thanks

I normally use dir() to check if the drives exists, but not too sure what to ask for on sql server.

if U R doing this manually, once the you have provided all the connection informaiton, if valid the connection is made. So I am wondering if you are trying to do this through VBA code. If so, perform a search on this website for query and see what it returns to you.

(Sorry, I'm not trying to be difficult, its just that I only use this feature in manual mode.)
