Choosing the lesser of 2 values

This is my first post to this forum. I have a simple problem. I've researched it all over and don't find a solution - at least not a simple one that doesn't involve VBA.

Suppose you have real values in 2 cells: C4 & D8

You simply want Excel to choose the lesser (or greater) value and place the result in Cell A10.

Is there a simple way? Is there any way?

=MIN(C4,D8)
