I have an excel form that I would like to clear certain fields when the form is closed. Is there a way like in MS Access to get the form to reset or clear for use next time its opened? Thanks

Excel Facts

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
I have found that the form starts in the same manner each time it is opened. If a text box was originally empty, then it will start each time as empty.

Try editing the form, clearing the data you want cleared, then save the form. Next time you open it (to use it), and each subsequent use thereafter, the form should be clear.

Thanks...but what I have is actually an Access App. with a button that opens excel and a file. The users are to fill in the blanks, print the file and close excel. What I want is for the excel file to clear certain cells when closed. I need a macro to clear certain (not all) fields when the file is closed so that they are empty when Access opens the file at another time.

OK; how about putting a button on the sheet with an attached macro. Once the data has been entered, pushing the button will run the macro which prints the sheet and either
1) closes the sheet without saving; or
2) clears the required fields then saves the sheet and closes it.

Is that more what you are after?
