Ladies, Gents,

I am using the application.sendkeys (left & enter) command to pre answer a request to write over the existing file when saving - I want it to overwrite.

The macro issues the commands even when the file saves for the first time and the key strokes are not required - could this create a problem on successive saves? Do I need to clear the key buffer if they are not used?

How would I clear the key buffer???

Regards

Chris

Excel Facts

When they said...
When they said you are going to "Excel at life", they meant you "will be doing Excel your whole life".
If you are running the sendkeys command upon closing the workbook you can check if the workbook is asking to save for the first time with the following in the Workbook_BeforeClose event:

Code:
If Len(Dir(Me.FullName)) = 0 Then

You could also try :

Code:
If Not Me.Saved Then

depending on what exactly you are trying to do.
