Nope, I've read it twice, and I don't understand. Are you saying that you want to group by month? If you data is in date order, then have an extra column of month e.g. =TEXT(cellref,"mmm") , and do the subtotal ... Data Subtotal ... on that ( Count on change of month ) ... it will generate an outline automatically. That's a complete guess of course.

Hi,

Thanks for replying on my query. but in i want to say that i have following information ,

A B C
July Thanima Perfumes 2,880.00
Jadwil Perfumes 200.00
Wardan Al Maghrib 500.00
Aroma Gift 2,256.00
Al Jumeira Studio Stores 7,140.00

the above text is an example of query and i have no of months break May, June, July, aug so on. what i need i want to fix a formula or condition which i can maximize or minimize the information.

for eg. i have bulk information on customer balances by months i dont want to fix filter function. i just want to fix month cell a button which carries (+) or (-) like if you have seen in subtotal, if i want to c month amounts i can c it without checking all information

And have you thought about my suggestion of having the month on every row, and subtotalling on that? Wouldn't that do exactly what you want?
