Close another file

I am trying to get one file to close another file. The problem is that it is in a macro that will run each time the file is opened. So if the file to be closed is not open, I get a "Subscript out of range" error. How do I work around this so I can run the macro, but won't have an interrupt if the remote file is not open?
Thanks

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)
