Hi
I am trying to ensure there are no other open workbooks when mine is opened, and have found a way to warn users that there are other workbooks open, so they must close them before opening my one, but wanted to find a way to check to see if the open workbook is a blank workbook, opened by Excel, and if it is a blank, empty workbook, close it without warning. I know how to stop Excel from opening the blank workbook, but I cannot make everyone change the way Excel opens just so my application will work.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance
Regards
Martin

Use Data, What-If Analysis, Goal Seek to find the correct input cell value to reach a desired result
If it is a blank empty workbook, unsaved, the name won't have "xls" on the end, will it?

You are correct - OK, I think I can fix it from there.
Many thanks
