I have looked on the board for this, but am having no luck, probably because I do not know what i should call this.

I want row 90 , 180, and 270 green. Easy enough.
BUT.... if i insert another row, say by row 80, i still want the original rows 90, 180, and 270 to stay green; I do not want row 91, 181, and 271 to now be green .

I want these to stay green as a benchmark for people using the spreadsheet. this spreadsheet is being used in another worksheet so anything over 90 rows plays havoc on my output, therefore i would like a benchmark to assist them in not going over that amount

I have been playing with different formats, but have had no luck.

Any suggetions would be appreciate

as always, many thanks in advance

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
Hi

You can use Conditional Formatting:

1. Highlight the area of the sheet you are interested in eg rows 1:300 say
2. Change to Formula Is and type in:

=OR(ROW()=90,ROW()=180,ROW()=270)
3. Choose the Format you want (eg Green Pattern)
4. Click OK

Best regards

This may also be of use. It is similar to Richard's but only requires two function calls and, if enough rows are added within the data area, would also make rows 360, 450 etc green.

1. Highlight the area of the sheet you are interested in eg rows 1:300 say
2. Format|Conditional Formatting...|Formula is: =MOD(ROW(),90)=0|Format|Patterns|choose green|OK|OK
