column formatting

Can you have 2 different Column widths in the same column on a spreadsheet?
Row 1 -10 Col A needs to be 5.00 wide
Row 12-26 Col A needs to be 17.00 wide

no only one width per column
but maybe you could work around by merging the cells in rows 12 on to another cell and adjust the width then

Thanks for your prompt reply. I was a member about 5 years ago & found this forum priceless.
Maybe it is time to use Word table's instead.
