column of data macro

i have column of mileages C2:C3000 and I need a macro to convert the column to kilometers.(each cell in the column *.62)

I can think of 2 ways

1-
type 0.62 from D2 to D3000,
copy column C
select column D
Paste special - select multiply
click OK

OR

2- simply run this macro

Sub test()
For i = 2 To 3000
    Range("D" & i).Value = Range("C" & i).Value * 0.62
Next i
End Sub

this way the converted values will be displayed on column D... if you want to change the values on the spot and column C to have the KM values then use this code

Sub test()
For i = 2 To 3000
    Range("C" & i).Value = Range("C" & i).Value * 0.62
Next i
End Sub
