I am trying to combine Text information from one cell with another cell that happens to have a link to a file.

I can combine the 2 cells, but I can't seem to keep one as a link to a file.

Here is what I did to combine the 2 cells.

=A1&" "&B1

This is where A1 is text and B1 is a link to a file.

The above combines the cells, but makes them both text. How do I keep one as a link to a file.
Thanks
Brent

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
You can't make one bit a link and another not a link, you can however use the link and the combined values as a link

=HYPERLINK(A1, A1&" "&B1)

Ok, I understand what you are doing here. I tried it, but I get an error message telling that it can't open the file. Here is my formula:

=HYPERLINK(Sheet1!E2, Sheet1!E2&" "&Sheet2!E2)

so, (sheet1!E2) is my text. And (Sheet2!E2) is the Hyperlink.

If I click on the Hyperlink in (Sheet2!E2) it works, but somehow not using the above formula

That would be

=HYPERLINK(Sheet2!E2, Sheet1!E2&" "&Sheet2!E2)

=HYPERLINK(Location, Friendly Name)
