I am creating a detailed list of quantities from a Bill of Material generated from SolidWorks.
Here is my dilemma:
I am using an indented BOM so the parts are ordered and quantified like this:

Item Qty
1 2
1.1 1
1.2 4
1.3 2
1.4 1
2 4
2.1 2
2.2 3
2.2.1 1
2.2.2 1
2.2.3 2
2.2.4 2

I need to find a way to change the quantities of each entry to reflect the totals.

I need it to be read like this:
Item Qty
1 2
1.1 2
1.2 8
1.3 4
1.4 2
2 4
2.1 8
2.2 12
2.2.1 12
2.2.2 12
2.2.3 24
2.2.4 24

Any ideas or snippets of code to help?

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
Code:
Item Qty
1 2
1.1 1
1.2 4
1.3 2
1.4 1
2 4
2.1 2
2.2 3
2.2.1 1
2.2.2 1
2.2.3 2
2.2.4 2

I need to find a way to change the quantities of each entry to reflect the totals.

I need it to be read like this:
Code:
Item Qty
1 2
1.1 2
1.2 8
1.3 4
1.4 2
2 4
2.1 8
2.2 12
2.2.1 12
2.2.2 12
2.2.3 24
2.2.4 24

I reposted the list because of formating issues in the original post.

Item 1 is a sub-assembly composed of parts 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4.
Item 2 is a sub-assembly composed of part 2.1 and an assembly 2.2.
Item 2.2 is a "sub-"sub-assembly composed of items 2.2.1, 2.2.2, 2.2.3, and 2.2.4.
Since sub-assembly item 2 has a quantity of 4, all the parts down the line will have a multiple of 4... and since "sub-"sub-assembly 2.2 has a quantity of 3, all the parts down the line will have a multiple of 3.
