I've posted this question on another "Excel Help Forum", though nobody cared to reply. I would be immensely grateful if somebody could point me in the right direction:
I'm trying to map out the pins of a computer keyboard encoder, which uses a 16*12 matrix:
A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,K,L,M,N,O,P [rows]
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12 [columns]
Every time a key is pressed, one "column" pin is connected to one "row" pin. For example, when pin 'D' is connected to pin '12', the "ENTER" key is outputted to the computer. Keep in mind that my pin labels have no correlation with the signals they produce.
Anyway, I've found it easiest to record the combination on two separate one-dimensional lists. For ex.:
<tbody>
</tbody>
<tbody>
</tbody>
So connecting pin 1 to pin C will output the TAB key, for instance.
Now I need to combine these lists into a two-dimensional table, with the alphabetical pins as ROWS and the numbered pins as COLUMNS. I've tried using Pivot Table—Do I need to write a macro, or is there a pre-made function for this?
