I am trying to cobine the numerical content of two cells (e.g. A1=33,000, B1=33,756) and display the sum of the two cells in a sentence. I have placed the following formula in A3; ="The sum of A1 and B1 is "&A1+B1

The output displayed is "The sum of A1 and B1 is 66756

How do I get the 66756 to use a comma so it diplays 66,756.

Also, on larger combinations the output, when inside a sentence, sometimes displays up to eight places after the decimal point (e.g. 66756.468284499.

Any thoughts...

Try this.

="The sum of A1 and B1 is "&TEXT(A1+B1, "0,000")

One possibility, but I'm sure there are better.

="The content of B3 is "&TEXT(B3,"00,000")
