Combining vlookup with getpivotdata

Hi all,

I have a pivot table which pulls data on time recorded by attorneys. The time recorded is under various categories, so the pivot table has names along the side with 15 rows for 15 attorneys, and then multiple columns for each category of time recorded (e.g. full rate, contingency, discounted rate etc.)

I have another s/sheet which produces an individual report for each attorney, so that each attorney will only see their own time records.

Into the second s/sheet, I would like to pull data for an individual attorney, say Attorney 1, and I have a cell (say A1) at the top which says Attorney 1.

What I would like is a formula which says lookup A1 and whoever the attorney is, pull his discounted rate time total from the pivot table. If A1 says Attorney 1, it will pull Attorney 1's figures, and if it says Attorney 2, it will fetch Attorney 2's records etc.

I assume this is possible? BTW, I cannot just filter the table to show the relevant attorney as the second s/sheet has lots of other data from various sources related to that attorney too.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
