Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
One way if using Excel 07 or 10

Copy data from Book 1 and 2 into the same column.
On ribbon goto:
- Data
-Remove Duplicates
- then sort as needed.

or in 2003
Under Advance Filter see Unique record.
