Combobox giving a value for subsequent formula

I have an order form in which there are comboboxes. Based on the choice in the combo box, the following formula needs to work.

=IF(A8="","",(VLOOKUP(A8,'V2 DATA'!$A$1:$B$190,2,FALSE)))

A8 is where the combo box is, but when I select something from the combo box, the formula is not coming up with anything in the other cell. It is supposed to lookup the price so the susequent formulas work.

Any ideas what I need to do? Is it a setting in the combo box (this is the first time I have worked with those).
