Why can't I delete a command button from the control toolbox? Right now I have a button in the middle of my spread sheet that can't be moved or deleted.

Excel Facts

Highlight Duplicates
Home, Conditional Formatting, Highlight Cells, Duplicate records, OK to add pink formatting to any duplicates in selected range.
Is the sheet protected?
I had the same issue, then I unprotected the sheet and it would leave. This was using Office 2000 though.

How are you trying to delete it?

Try displaying the Control Toolbox toolbar and clicking the little set square in the top left.

That should put you in design mode and you should be able to delete the button.
