I have other programs that will except command line arguments to convert from one type of file to another. does Excel have this functionality?

basically, I want to provide excel with a tab delimited file and have it save the xls equivalent in a specific location.
c:\~\excel.exe C:\~\origfile.wp C:\~\newfile.xls

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.

Hi,

Do you mean File|Open, & select files of Type txt?

Record this as a macro & you shouild have the basis of what you require.

Post back if further questions.
