Hi
I am new to Excel so i apologise if i am asking a silly question.

I have a data validation list set to cell A4 (the list it is refering to is in cell G4:G7) I also have a vlookup formula in cell A5 refering to G4:G7 & H4:H7. Certain cells in G4:G7 & H4:H7 have hidden comments in is there anyway i can get the comments to appear in the data validation list set to cell A4 and the same with the description column in cell B4

Thank you for looking and thank you for your help

Welcome Dave, you can set a comment in the validation (of which you type) so that when the validation cell is selected, it has a description

Is this what you want?

click your validated cell, then

Data > Validation

Select 'Input Message' tab & in the bigger of the two boxes type in your description, copy as required to do the same as above for the second validation you have

To my knowledge you cannot link this to a cell, so have to free type your input as required

Let me know how you get on
