Hello, I am trying to find a formula that would compare data in column A and D and to find the exact match in Column D to that which appears in Column A. Once match is found, return the value from column B and copy to column C to all duplicates. Since Avery Aames line A1 matches Avery Aames D1,D2,D3. add a t from from column B1 to C1,C2,C3. The same for Avery Aam, Since there is a match in D4 copy the f from line b2 to line C4. If unable to find a match between A and D, to returned undefined.
The data can appear as duplicates in Column D but will be unique in Column A

A
BCD
1)
Avery Aamestt
Avery Aames
2)
Avery Aam
ft
Avery Aames
3)

Avery Aames
4)
f
Avery Aam
5)

Excel Facts

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.
Try =VLOOKUP(D1,$A$1:$B$3,2,FALSE) in C1 and copy down.
