I have 2 lists in excel, how can I write a list to see what entries are the same, and which are missing/extra? I can do a basic compare, but only between each line, not the whole list (so if the lists are differently ordered, mine doesn't work).

Thanks in advance

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.

Say your lists are in columns A and B. This:

=COUNTIF(B:B,A1)>0

will return TRUE if the value in A1 also exists in column B, otherwise FALSE.
