comparison of 2 columns

Hi,

using Swedish Excel 2003 and need som easy function for comapring two columns with data.

The first column contains around 2500 cells and the second column contains around 980 cells.

I need to mark every cell in my first column where there is a duplicate in the second column.

Instead of manually go through each cell in the second column and match with a cell in my first column there has to be a smart function for this, of course.

Appreciate your kind help and exampleof function to use.

Hi, Welcome to the board!

Dont know what the swedish equivalents of the Excel functions are, but have you tried a conditional format?

Select column A, then from the menu Format > Conditional Format
In the window set 'Formula is' =AND(ISNUMBER(B1),ISNUMBER(MATCH(A1,B:B,0)))

Then click the Format button and select a format to use.
