I have 2 salary register , in both column A contains employee name & B having amount of salary. So my problem is i want to compare both sheets to find out whether there is any difference.
So Mr.Excel is there any way to find out it by using formula..?

Hi,


in first sheet (register1) column A names, colum B salaries

in C2 to obtain the differences between salaries in sheets register1 and register2

=B2-VLOOKUP(A2,register2!A$1:B$1000,2,0)

or

=B2-SUMIF(register2!A:A,A2,register2!B:B)

The 1st one worked.., but now only i noticed one thing. Register 1 having 1348 employees & 2 having 1360..
So what to do now..?

Hi,

you could check employees missing in register1 using a countif in register2.

Example in register2 sheet in c2

=if(countif(register1!a:a,a2),"ok","missing")
