Hi there

I am currently on office 2007 but sometimes I need to save an excel file as a 1997 - 2003 as some people in my office are on this version. I am currenly experiencing a compatibility problem when saving as the earlier version on a particular file. The file I am trying to save was originally constructed in Excel 2003 and I have saved it as 2007. When I try to save it as 2003 (to send to colleagues on '03) I receive an error message 'Significant loss of functionality'. When viewed after saving there is a load of formatting lost - just simple formatting like boarders, bold text and grey colour - all originally constructed in 2003. I have tried a few different things but I still get the loss of fomatting (on many tabs..). I have no idea how to solve this problem and I will be enormoulsy grateful for any assistance you can give.
Thanks
Derek

same problem in my office. i do not know what is solution except all your collegues and you (all company) has to have the same office 2007 or you have to be carefull to not doing following: never make "huge" file in 2007 and try to save it like 2003 & never open two version of office if in one you have so many formulas and formatting because your work can be lost

it is my experience, maybe i am not wright but we both have nasty problem

Yes indeed. I thought I had solved the problem the other day by re-saving with a different file name but the problem has since ocurred again. There does not seem to be any logical reason for the error, has got me stumped.
